Set Up Your NFC Emergency Contact Tag

Your NFC tag can store your emergency contact information so it can be quickly accessed when needed.

You can program your tag in just a few minutes using your smartphone.

What You'll Need

  • Your NFC tag
  • An iPhone or Android phone
  • The NFC Tools app

NFC Tools is available for both iPhone and Android and allows you to write contact information, phone numbers, and other information directly to compatible NFC tags.

Step 1 — Download NFC Tools by wakdev 

Download NFC Tools on your smartphone.

iPhone: Download NFC Tools by wakdev from the App Store.

Step 2 — Open NFC Tools

Open the app and select Write.

Then select:

Add a record → Phone Number

Enter the emergency contact information you would like stored on your NFC tag.

Step 3 — Write the Information to Your NFC Tag

Once your information has been entered:

  1. Tap Write in NFC Tools.
  2. Hold the top of your phone close to the NFC tag.
  3. Keep your phone near the tag until the app confirms that the information has been written.

That's it! Your NFC tag is now programmed.

Step 4 — Test Your Tag

After writing your information, tap your phone against the NFC tag to make sure it works correctly.

We recommend testing your tag before using it.

Important

Make sure the information you enter is accurate and up to date.

Your NFC tag can be rewritten if you need to change the emergency contact information in the future, as long as the tag has not been permanently locked.
